Remember Tor Syverud?
Tor 1982

When did you attend Priory?
1981 - 1983
Who was your most unforgettable teacher?
Mr. H E Cunningham - our maths teacher. He was just brilliant the way he taught - sometimes writing upside - down for us to understand more easily. I guess I owe him for my interest in mathematics....
Mr. Cunningham
Who were your best friends at school?
Sean Collins. Unfortunately, I do not have his coordinates anymore, so any help finding him would be greatly appreciated. Also Ivorine Wilkins, Arlene Ruddock, Stephen Sawyers must be mentioned. Today it feels almost unfair to not mention even more people.
Ivorine Wilkins Stephen Sawyers
Who are you in touch with now?
Occasionally I have met some other Norwegians who attended during the same years as me. Also, I met with some classmates in 1992, when I visited Jamaica (Ivorine Wilkins, Scott Benjamin)
Who would you like to trace if we could?
Sean Collins. For sure that would be very interesting.
What's the wildest thing you ever did at Priory?
I did a lot of crazy things, different to judge the craziest.... Maybe opening a bag of itching powder underneath the ceiling fan, forcing a complete evacuation of the classroom for several days. I believe that itching powder came from some Jamaican plant... But just the fact living so far away from "home", speaking a foreign language was in a way crazy
Who was the craziest person during your time at Priory?
Must be our chemistry teacher Mr. Eccles. He made a lot of fun, and made some crazy experiments in chemistry
Mr. Eccles
Where do you live and what do you do now?
I live in Skien, Norway. Since Priory, I have attended Norwegian high school, The Norwegian Institute of Technology and Science, and also done a PhD partly at the University of Tokyo, Japan. Currently, I am heading the operations at Notodden of Norwegian Company Tinfos, responsible for hydroelectric power production and building small scale hydropower plants.
Tell us about any significant others
Wife Julia and kids Dina (2 and ½) and Rose (8 months)
Tell us about your most unusual meeting with a Priory person
I met Marianne Olimstad in Oslo a few years back. A lot of fun talking about our time at Priory.
What do you think of the Priory site?
I like the site, and I will make sure former Priory students from Norway, including my sister, gets a link to the site.
