When did you attend Priory
1973-1974
How did you locate the Priory website?
Google Search. Isn't it amazing!
Who were your most memorable teachers?
There were several....
John Batten in Math. I enjoyed the English view of math.
John Batten
Rev. Foster in English Lit. The man loved his subject. To this day I can quote from Henry the Vth.
Rev. Walter Foster
Chris Skrimshire in Physics. Skrimpy hung a wire from the ceiling and loaded it beyond its limit. Slowly. I saw with my own beady eyes what the book said. He was also there in my final days at Priory on a trip to a cave in south Jamaica. Ha held the crude map when we were 200 feet underground in bat poop.
Chris Skrimshire
Who were your best friends at Priory?
Kevin Bradley, Nicholas Wong and all of the Abbey Court Apartment gang.
Kevin Bradley
Nicholas Wong
Who are you in touch with today?
Ronnie Sampson and my brothers, Danny and Paul. Ronnie came from South Texas before Priory and my family has not lost touch with him since.
Ronnie Sampson
Who would you like to track down?
Mary Keenan and Kevin Bradley. I owe Kevin an old bet over Red Stripe Beer at the BurgerMan on Trafalgar Road.
Mary was the nicest person I have ever met. She had seen the world and I loved listening to her speak Spanish and telling me about the world she had seen.
Mary Keenan
What was the wildest thing you ever did at Priory?
I kept my head down low while going to Priory. I still think of drinking a few Devon Duppies now and then however.
What memories/views do you have of Priory?
Meeting people from all over the world has to be my best memories. Also the land. My family came from the flat. coastal planes of Texas when we moved to Jamaica. I shall always remember looking out of the cinder block class rooms at the mountains.
Who was the craziest person during your time at Priory?
Craig Piter had already gone on to boarding school in Ireland when I came to Priory but I count him as the craziest. He came back to visit and to this day I do not know anybody that has the rear end of his overalls blown out by a farmer shooting rocksalt. Don't steal apples from an Irishman.
Where do you live and what do you do nowadays?
I live in Houston Texas in the Clear Lake area. I am currently working on the space station project. My group writes software to test the software that is on the station.
Tell us about any significant others
I am still a hermit, I don't know why, it just worked out that way. I have a boxer dog named Earl.
Tell us about your most unusual meeting with a Priory person
Haven't seen anybody from Priory. The only picture I have of myself is this recent one when I went along on a South Texas hog hunt. I helped carry the fellow and no, I didn't wet my pants. It was a dirty job. Brother Danny is also in the picture.
The reason I am including this picture is because we were so full of bull when we moved to Jamaica and told tall "Texas" tales and the Priory people rolled their eyes and laughed. Consider yourself lucky. That isn't the jackrabbit we bragged about.
I am the guy to the right of the hog....no gun. My brother Danny (a Priory troublemaker) is in the orange shirt. The other two guys are Rolando, who I work with and his cousin Hector who is a Texas Highway Patrolman and lives in one of those houses on the background. He can live there free if he parks his police car out front. Keeps the deer poachers out. Hector shot the hog.
I brought a gun to the hunt. A big, old timey black powder gun. A cannon. It was fun shooting it but had nothing to do with the actual hog hunt.
What do you think of the Priory Website?
I was very pleased with the website. Thanks for the effort. Please keep it up.
