Remember Peggy Tate

Peggy 2006

What was your nickname at Priory?

When did you attend Priory

1952-1955

How did you locate the Priory website?

Through the Once Upon a Time Website

Who were your most memorable teachers?

Several - Mr Jones who taught English and made us take the parts in the various plays we were studying, sometimes embarassing but a lot of fun. Mr. Long who taught me  Health Science after school so I could make up enough subjects for my Senior Cambridge exam; and of course, Mr. Fowler, who was just awesome.

Who were your best friends at Priory?

I entered Priory in my teen years so it was hard to really make and  have best friends.  I had a mad crush on the Ross brothers, Robin Lambert was always a good friend, as was Denise Royes and Brooks Douet.

Who are you in touch with today?

I had an e-mail from Robin Lambert last March to which I replied, but haven't heard from him again.  My sister, Jackie and brothers Derek and David also attended Priory - Derek passed away a couple of years ago and I am, of course constantly in touch with the other two.

Who would you like to track down?

Hey Robin - drop me a line - also Denise Royes and Richard and Allison Hopkins - they lived next door to my Grandmother on Hope Road and my siblings and I spent many hours with them a lot of time "playing" when we should have been having our "afternoon rest" much to Grandma's chagrin.

What was the wildest thing you ever did at Priory?

Can't think of anything really, I was pretty shy.

What memories/views do you have of Priory?

I have such fond memories of Priory - I loved the grounds, the method of teaching, the small classes and the interest the teacher had in all of us to do well.   I am just sorry that I left when I did and didn't stay on for my Higher School Cert.

Who was the craziest person during your time at Priory?

Can't think of anyone,we were all pretty well behaved.

Where do you live and what do you do nowadays?

I live in Oshawa, Ontario, Canada.

Tell us about your most unusual meeting with a Priory person

Unfortunately, haven't "bucked" up anyone from my era.

What do you think of the Priory Website?

I think its great - you do wonderful work, can't wait to get on my computer every Sunday morning for the latest updates even though I don't know most of the people.   Need more from the 1950's.
