Remember Margaret Walker

When did you attend Priory?

I taught there in 74 and fall of 75

How did you locate the Priory website?

Just trying to see what I could remember about Jamaica when I lived there and since I taught at Priory I was interested in finding out if there was a website.

Who were your most memorable teachers?

They weren't so much as unforgettable, but were my friends. Sarah Gomes, Rosemary Brown, Patrick Bourke and Vin McKie.

Mrs Sarah Gomes and Mr. Vin McKie

Who were your best friends at Priory?

The above teachers, etc at Priory were friendly, helpful and were my friends outside of the work place, especially Rosemary.

Who are you in contact with today?

Sadly no one. When I left Priory I went to graduate school and divorced

Who would you like to make contact with?

I would like to know how Rosemary Brown is as she was so helpful to me. Sadly I believe the other three are all deceased.

What was the wildest thing you did at Priory?

I think the wildest thing I did was to volunteer to be house leader of Princeton when I was there

Tell us about your memories of Priory

I loved Priory. I loved the fact my daughter was exposed to friends from  around the world as I was. I loved the open atmosphere and the support of the faculty

Who was the craziest person during your time at Priory?

Probably me.

Where do you live and what do you do nowadays?

I moved to Atlanta a year ago from Florida where I had been for over 20 years. Because of my Masters Degree in Counselling I have worked in schools, drug abuse programs and with the DUI program

Tell us about any significant others

Currently there is no  significant other. My two children are my priority along with my granddaughter, Hannah.

Tell us about your most unusual meeting with a Priory person

When I went to Western Carolina for my Masters degree there were two teachers from Priory and a fellow Jamaican I knew who was there also. since then I have talked with Peter Chavannes by phone but have not seen him.

What do you think of the Priory Website?

I was thrilled to find the Priory website and even found a picture of me, the stamp club I sponsored and a mention of the Photography club which I also sponsored/mentored.
